Our Story
The journey of Ryo Shampoo began over 15 years ago when our founder, Ryota, started experiencing premature hair loss in his early 20s. As someone who had always taken pride in his thick, shiny locks, this was devastating. Ryota tried every hair loss product on the market, but nothing seemed to work.
That’s when he decided to take matters into his own hands. Ryota dove into extensive research on hair growth, different ingredients, and hair care techniques. He met with leading trichologists and herbalists. He pored over ancient texts on Ayurvedic medicine.
After years of studying and experimenting, Ryota finally created his breakthrough formula. It combined powerful natural ingredients like ginseng, green tea, and saw palmetto to nourish hair follicles and stimulate growth. He tested it on himself first and was amazed when his hair started growing back thicker and fuller.
Ryota knew he was onto something big. In 2005, he officially launched the first Ryo Shampoo product line based on his unique formula. Word of the incredible results quickly spread, and it wasn’t long before we had a cult following of loyal customers around the world.

Our Farm-to-Bottle Process
We take great pride in closely overseeing every step of our farm-to-bottle process.
It starts with sourcing the highest quality ingredients. We work directly with organic farmers to obtain many botanicals straight from the fields. Our ginseng comes from pristine mountainsides in Asia. Our neem and amla are ethically harvested from Indian groves.
These precious ingredients then reach our zero-waste facilities, where they undergo meticulous extraction processes to retain maximum potency. Our proprietary methods allow us to pack each formula with up to 5X more active extracts using steam distillation, cold-pressing, and other techniques.
We manufacture our products in small batches to protect the vitality of our nutrients. Bottling and packaging are designed to minimize environmental impact.
